DAY 1 ARRIVAL TO ISTANBUL /TURKEY
On arrival, take an included transfer to the hotel. Later attend a Welcome Briefing with our Tour Director

A full day tour starts with a visit to the Topkapi Palace. Then to magnificent St. Sophia’s Basilica, built originally by Constantine the Great. Later, visit the fascinating Blue Mosque, famous for its six minarets and beautiful blue Iznik tiles. Then visit the Byzantine Hippodrome where chariot races and competitive athletic events took place.(B)

     
 
DAY 3 ISTANBUL-GALLIPOLI-CANAKKALE

Depart for Gallipoli and visit the battlefields where many of the fiercest battles of World War I took place. Then on to Canakkale.(B)(D)

DAY 4- CANAKKALE-TROY-PERGAMON-IZMIR

First visit the legendary city of Troy, immortalized by Homer in the stories of King Priamus, Hector, Paris and the beautiful Helen. Then see the archaeological excavations that have revealed nine separate periods of settlement and, of course, the symbolic replica wooden Trojan horse that commemorates the epic war machine constructed in the 13th century B.C. Next, stop at the ancient kingdom of Pergamon where we visit the Asclepion Medical Center. (B)

DAY 5:IZMIR-EPHESUS-VIRGIN MARY;S HOUSE-PAMUKKALE

Head to the ancient city of Ephesus, where our walking tour includes the Great Theater, built by the Romans between 41 and 117 A.D. and still used today, the Temple of Hadrian, guarded by a head of Medusa, and the House of the Virgin Mary. Then on to Pamukkale where we can relax and enjoy the blissful thermal pools at our hotel.  (B)(D)

DAY 6 :PAMUKKALE-HIERAPOLIS-BURSA

After breakfast, drive to Hierapolis, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Visit the ancient ruins, then continue north to the city of Bursa(B)

DAY 7:BURSA-ISTANBUL

Visit the Green Ottoman Complex and the old silk market this morning. Then cross the Marmara Sea and return to Istanbul where we visit the Grand Bazaar. Tonight enjoy a Farewell Dinner with newfound friends(B)(D)

DAY 8:DEPART-ISTANBUL
